10.6 million NOK from the Norwegian Research Council
Optimization and learning for warehouse logistics
Solwr has, together with SINTEF, received support of 10.6 million NOK from the Norwegian Research Council for a new research project entitled "Optimization and learning for Warehouse Logistics". The project's main goal is to improve human working conditions and to reduce environmental and financial costs across the retail value chains. Solwr and SINTEF will do this by developing analytical and learning-based algorithms for internal challenges related to stock optimization. The project runs over four years and has seven sub-goals to ensure value creation and achievement of the main goal.

Long collaboration with SINTEF
Krogen has collaborated with SINTEF since 2016, when he and then senior researcher Olivier Roulet-Dubonnet, carried out a survey of the market related to automation solutions for manual work in warehouses. The project received support from the Research Council, and resulted in Roulet-Dubonnet and Krogen establishing Currence Robotics in 2016. Since then, they have developed the pallet sorting robot Sort and the picking robot Grab, both of which are in use by customers.
In March 2022, Currence Robotics joined forces with the software company Driw, and established the company Solwr. There are many positive synergies between the companies, which forms a basis for better market intervention, more rational operation and a wider range of services.
ASKO invests in Solwr
After many years of close collaboration related to the development of the warehouse robots Grab™ and Sort™, ASKO is now entering the ownership side of Solwr.

The robots are here! What now?
The future is here in the form of robots that mow the lawn, vacuum the house or deliver pizza to our door. What happens when we start introducing robots into the workplace?
